Synopsis[]
It is once again time for Raf to journey from Angie Town to Golden school, though this year she is more than excited to make the trip. She is happy to see her friends and while Cox reminds her they'll have their devils to worry about, she is delighted to reunite with Sulfus. She recalls their time in Summer School where they made a promise to choose if they'd travel the Path of Metamorphosis and become humans together. Raf has her answer and she only hopes that Sulfus feels the same. She collects her luggage and after a pause to think of her lost human mother, heads out.
In an unknown location, Raf's human mother, Angelie, lies unconscious in a crystal casket while two mysterious persons watch over her. They declare it finally time to put their plans into action and call upon their associate, Blu. She appears, though declares they are not her masters, which makes the Male figure angry. The Female calms him and reminds Blu that they have a deal: Blu will serve them and in exchange, will receive her "reward". Blu accepts the bargain and vows she will not break her word. She is given her first assignment: to retrieve Sulfus.
In Match City, Sulfus is putting the final tune-up on his bike, with help from Basilisco. He is glad to be heading back to school, mainly for the chance to see Raf again. With everything set, he hops on his bike and drives off for the school, but he's stopped by an overturned tree in his path. Blu appears to put a hypnotic spell over him, instructing the "handsome" devil that come sunset, he will fly to her location. Brainwashed, Sulfus agrees.
Raf meets with Urie, Dolce, and Miki at the Grand Port where all are excited about the new year to come. When it's their turn to enter the gate, Raf sweet talks the guard into letting them all go at once, descending to Earth right outside of their beloved Golden School. Unfortunately for them, Kabale, Cabiria, and Gas have also arrived to the school and insults are Immediately traded, though Raf is more concerned of where Sulfus could be.
The devil makes his late arrival, to the delight and his friends and Raf. But her joy is cut short as he immediately insults her friends then brushes off her outrage by declaring they will save any conversation between them for a "private moment". Finished with the angels, he allows himself to be embraced by his own friends. Raf isn’t happy about his mean personality traits as opposed to his more charming ones, but does agree it's better they wait to talk. She's pulled away by her own friends.
Later, the school is enjoying their Start of School Party and all seem to be having a great time, with Gas as DJ. Cabiria and Kabale mock the way the angels dance which sparks a dance-off between the rival groups. The devils do well, earning great cheers from the diabolic students; but the angels do better which impresses both angel and devil classes. As they bask in their victory, Sulfus motions for Raf to meet him on the balcony, which she hopes means it's time for their talk. But while Sulfus is waiting for her, he sees the sunset and Blu's previous hypnosis overtakes him, causing him to fly off. Raf sees him go and is outraged by what looks like him intentionally ditching her.
Sulfus arrives to Blu's location beside a mysterious lake which becomes a two-way communication to her employers. She lifts the hypnosis and Sulfus is outraged at being kidnapped. The mysterious figures direct his attention to their captive, Angelie, and demand that Sulfus must obey their orders or else they will do harm to the mother of his loved one. Their first order to him: ignore Raf like a stranger. To ensure he doesn't disobey, they have Blu put an enchantment on Bascilisco so that the snake will be a spy for them. Sulfus has no way out.
