Synopsis[]
Sulfus has taken Blu's invitation to travel down the mysterious stairway into the base of their bosses. They greet him calmly, already having Bascilisco in hand. Sulfus tries to break past them to free Angelie from her prison, but the two display incredibly strong powers that overwhelm the apprentice devil. Blu, a concerned spectator, pleads for his life and the bosses spare him, though remind the beaten devil that his actions will affect Angelie's safety thus he must obey them. Certain they've made their point, they command Blu to take the battered eternal back upstairs as she was the one who let him down, threatening her as well.
The next day in class, Kabale and Cabiria ask where Sulfus disappeared to last night and he refuses to answer. Up in the angel class, Raf arrives and greets her friends who seem delighted. They explain they can see a positive change in her attitude and she admits she has been feeling more content lately. Dolce puts her foot in her mouth by bringing up her breakup with Sulfus, but Raf agrees that it was the right choice. Though, internally, she doesn't think so. To her friends, she declares a desire to focus on her studies and become a guardian angel, which the just-arriving Cassidy calls a noble goal.
Both Cassidy and Kubral give Raf and Sulfus their first Personification trials, ushering them off to their respective Terrestrial Wardrobe departments. Cabiria thinks Scarlet might "wake him up" and Kabale snides that the teacher has had her eyes on the boy since they met. Kubral overhears her and sends her along with Sulfus so that Scarlet can give her a trial in Projection. Dolce has received the same assignment and while her less-than-bright remarks seems frustrating, Cassidy calmly advices Dolce to seek Terrence while Miki and Urie praise her patience.
Terrence and Scarlet give simultaneous lessons to their students, beginning with Personification. While Scarlet throughs copies of Daniel's clothes at Sulfus, Terence explains to Raf that Personification is about putting yourself into the perspective of your Earthly One, walking "in their shoes" to better understand their thinking. He then turns to Dolce and tries to explain Projection as "thoughts in your head" but when she doesn’t get it, he takes her along to the earthly classroom. They run across Scarlet and Kabale while they join in the classroom. Dolce is called to explain all she knows about her terrestrial but she stutters on the topic of Liu's fashion, which Kabale delightfully points out she hates to shop, which hurts Dolce's soul. Scarlet gets them back on track and Terrence explains that the point of Projection is to inspire good or bad deeds in their terrestrial instead of waiting for them to have a problem. Also, the VETO is suspended while in Projection mode and there is no Challenge Room required, the two simply have to take turns speaking to their human. The instructors gift their mascots with the Projection ability and leave the students to their task.
As the Golden School lets out for the day, the humans all head home. Raf and Sulfus dressed in Daniel's clothes, head off towards town for their Personification lesson. They both complain about the assignments and that they must do so together, but internally, they are glad to spend some with one another. Blu also follows them, well hidden from their senses.
